Frequently asked questions
When can I contact a midwife?
You can contact me during pregnancy for follow-up, preparation and practical information. You do not need to wait until the end of your pregnancy. We discuss my availability personally.
Do you provide care at home?
Yes. Postnatal care takes place at home and, depending on the situation, other consultations may also take place at your home. The HypnoBirthing programme is provided individually at home.
Where can consultations take place?
Consultations are available at home and on Wednesday mornings at the multidisciplinary practice De Copiloot (Kerkomsesteenweg 320, 3370 Boutersem).
Which areas does La Mariposa cover?
The regular service area covers Flemish Brabant, Walloon Brabant and Limburg. Do you live just outside this area? Feel free to get in touch and we can look at what may be possible.
Is midwifery care reimbursed?
Reimbursements are available under Belgium’s compulsory health insurance for midwifery services. Because I work as a non-conventioned midwife, the reimbursement and the amount you pay yourself may vary. More information is available under Fees & reimbursement.
Can I contact you if I am not yet sure what kind of support I need?
Of course. You do not need to know in advance which care or support is most suitable. Tell me what you have questions about, and we can look together at what is appropriate.
How do I make an appointment?
In the contact form, choose what you are contacting me about and briefly explain what you need. I will then contact you personally.
Can my partner be involved in the support?
Absolutely. Where you wish, your partner can be involved in consultations, preparation and support.
